Hello! I’m Vera

I’ve owned this domain for almost two decades now (gasp!), and I’ve used it mainly for personal stuff. Like most other Internet kids at the time, I learnt to code from Neopets when I was 13.

Moved on to Homestead, Geocities, Envy.nu, Virtue.nu, Blogspot, Livejournal and privately hosted by other amazing people..I’ve always had blogs.

They are always embarrassing to look back on but I miss those days when websites looked different. When people traded quilt patches and badges, when people actually wrote words and not memes.. When people weren’t all looking to monetize their content.

So I still write non-revenue generating content.

Hopefully I’ve grown up to know what things are less embarrassing to publicize but if I come across as offensive, you may spit on the device you’re viewing this from.

I could be too old to care about what strangers who don’t know me think about me.

I worked in social media and advertising after I graduated from uni, decided it was not worth my life pursuing, then got my comprehensive certification in Pilates and learning as much as I can about movement anatomy. The human body is a difficult one. I’m still learning while teaching others what I know.

During Covid, I started helping the family business and I’m juggling that work along with Pilates. It’s not the dream, but there are things about both that I’m still finding value from.

I’m a serial hobbyist and I’ve taken actual classes in Rock Climbing, Bowling, Ballet, Tap and Salsa in the past and I’ve also tried the ukulele and the piano as an adult.

The most embarrassing class I’ve taken is singing because I still do not sing well – but it was worth it because I’m not longer shy at karaokes.

I do most of these things with my partner, Clifton.

Here, you will find my thoughts on all these experiences. I write for myself, so you will never find anything useful here.
